Our Time Coming to an End

It has been over two weeks since I returned and I feel I am thru the jet lag fog.

Looking back over the journey......

  • All 19 of us began our trek to Morocco after meeting at JFK airport.
  • After one week of orienting to the culture in Morocco and learning how to live and work, we began our 2 week English Academy (sprinting a marathon) with 8 hour days jam packed with teaching with students and Moroccan staff.
  • Then we finished with a performance for our parents. It was a sweet day to have students present art, music and dance and to say goodbye to our students, staff and parents. We all were ready to rest but we were sad that our short time was at an end.
  • For me I wished we could be there another month. Three weeks is just getting used to the climate and ways of living. Plus our team worked so well together.
  • We had a debrief time, which was very important, to reflect on what our Father had done through us since the beginning of the trip. Then we spent time affirming teammates and the attributes our Father has put in each of us.
  • After our send off, we as a team again forged through airports as different ones took different routes until there were only 2 of us left heading to Atlanta airport.

We were coming back from a very close and bonding time in an amazing culture and entering into our worlds again. We all were struck with the opportunity to be light in a very dark world which caused us to take very seriously each interaction or connection we had.

Lift up the connections we made while in Morocco and also wisdom for me as to what the Father would have as my next steps in allowing him to work through me in other cultures.

This call or stirring began last summer as I left Nazareth after volunteering there and has taken me to India and now Morocco. I know our Father wants me to use this time in my life to serve and use the gifting and experience He has given me. Pray for clear direction.

Thank you to those who are following this journey and so encouraging and supportive. It encourages my heart to be able to share these experiences.
